The Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) system takes conventional wisdom of all the parties approaching a project independently and replaces that mindset with one of a collaborative team working together. In the early stages of a project, constant coordination with the design team enhances project detail. This enables the IPD contractor to access information that would not normally be available on a typical project until the end of the CD phase. This new delivery system creates an environment where design/build teams can collaborate with less cost, improve decision making, reduce Requests for Information (RFI’s) and accelerate construction schedules.
